Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have started digital recording of the materials seized by the police and kept at malkhana [depository] of each police station in the district.
The police spokesman informed here on Friday that the e-malkhana had been set up in the police headquarters under the supervision of SP Dr Varzan Ali.
He added that all complete details of all the material seized by the police and stored in the depositories of the police stations would be digitally recorded.
The spokesman said the digital record keeping would help the department, citizens and judiciary in many ways.
Adil Chandio and Wajid Gabol had been given the responsibility of heading the e-malkhana’s IT section, he added.
