: Inspector General Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Akhtar Hayat Khan here on Friday inaugurated Command and Control Room, Ababeel Force Squad and Police Fitness Gym at police lines.
Regional Police Officer (RPO), Muhammad Sulaiman, District Police Officer (DPO), Haroon Rashid and other senior police officials were also present on the occasion.
Briefing the IGP about security measures, the DPO said that 238 cameras had been installed in various areas of the district including busy places, adding all the important installations were being monitored through command and control center by technical police experts.
He said that the prime objective of the command system was to prevent street crimes, terrorism and theft of vehicles besides proper monitoring of police posts and police stations.
Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said that Ababeel Squad would provide rapid response to people and prevent incidents of crimes by continuous monitoring.
He said the Ababeel Squad comprised a trained and professional po
lice force that was fully equipped to meet any situation.
He said that Ababeel Squad would soon clear the district of any anti-social elements and people would soon witness the results of security measures being taken by the police.
It is worth mentioning that Ababeel Force is comprised of fifty trained policemen that are given heavy motorcycles and weapons to increase the performance.
The force would be in direct contact with control room through modern communication system.
