IHC seeks details regarding officers’ transfers

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought details from authorities pertaining to transfers of officers on the recommendation of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during caretaker set up.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the case against the transfer of member planning CDA.

The court questioned that how many federal secretaries, posted by the previous government, were working on same posts.

The court instructed the ECP to ensure implementation on its notification pertaining to the transfers without discrimination.

During the course of proceeding, DG Law ECP said that chief commissioner and chairman CDA were transferred on the recommendation of ECP.

The court asked that whether the ECP’s notification had been fully implemented regarding the transfers.

The court remarked that the ECP could not do pick and choose regarding implementing its orders in caretaker set up.

The court sought the progress report from ECP and adjourned the case till coming Tuesday.
