IHC serves notice to CDA against development charges in E-12

Islamabad:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday served notices to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in a case against cancellation of plots in the Sector E-12 and notices of more development charges to the allottees.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, who heard the case filed by allottees of E-12 Muhammad Tazeem and others, also served notices to the respondents in the plea seeking a stay order against the CDA’s decision.

The petition stated that the civic body had added more development charges on the already charged ones while it could not complete the development work in over 20 years in the said sector.

The petitioners stated that Rs 9,000 per square Gaj development charges were unnecessary and illegal, and prayed the court to set aside the CDA’s notices in that regard.

They also prayed the court to stop the CDA from canceling their allotments, pleading that charges of 1989 should be applied for the development work.

They also prayed the court to issue directives to the CDA to rapidly complete th
e development work in the said sector and also give possession of the plots to the allottees.
