ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday summoned complainant Khawar Manika and also reserved its verdict in a petition against the trial pertaining to alleged irregular marriage of Bushra Bibi with former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman.
IHC’s Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the case filed by Bushra Bibi against the trial in lower court.
During the course of proceedings, the petitioner’s lawyer Salman Akram Raja argued that the complainant Khawar Manika stated that he divorced Bushra Bibi on November 14 and the latter married ex-PTI chairman after 39 days. It was not factual correct as the verbal divorce was uttered in April 2017, he added.
He said that the complainant decided to file the case after six years of their divorce, and prayed the IHC to stop his client’s indictment by the trial court on that count.
