Islamabad:Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ikhtiar Wali Khan, on Tuesday highlighted the constitutional options available to the federal government to address governance issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), with a focus on resolving genuine problems and promoting infrastructure development in the province.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Ikhtiar Wali criticised the performance of the KP current chief minister, accusing him of failing to tackle the province’s key challenges.
He claimed that during the tenure of the current provincial government, attacks by extremist groups and other criminal activities have increased, posing a threat to the lives and security of citizens.
The coordinator added that the federal government had provided substantial funds for upgrading institutions and improving the law-and-order situation in the province, but alleged that the provincial government had failed to utilise them effectively.
He further said the federal government had already offered political dialogue to resolve outstanding issues, but alleged that the opposition party had repeatedly declined the offer.
