Illegal plaza demolished after fatal collapse

District

MULTAN:The district administration has demolished the remaining structure of an illegally constructed plaza on Northern Bypass following its collapse, which claimed a precious life.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Faisal Saleem, a District Council Multan team razed the remaining structure using heavy machinery as part of the administration’s crackdown on illegal constructions.

A case has been registered against the three owners, Muhammad Nadeem Iqbal, Muhammad Kamran and Muhammad Imran, for violating the approved building plan and carrying out illegal construction.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem said a comprehensive inquiry into the incident was underway and strict legal action would be taken against those found responsible.

He added that the injured workers were being provided with the best possible medical facilities. He made it clear that illegal constructions and violations of approved building plans would not be tolerated, stressing that strict enforcement of the law was essential to protect the lives and property of citizens.

It is pertinent to mention here that the plaza collapsed yesterday, leaving one labourer dead and six others injured.
