Imran Shah backs constitutional, administrative reforms in national interest

Islamabad

ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah on Wednesday supported constitutional and administrative measures aimed at benefiting Pakistan, saying such steps should be pursued in the larger national interest.

Talking to the media outside Parliament House, he said the country had adopted a Constitution and that subsequent amendments had been introduced to address its shortcomings.

He maintained that any measure considered beneficial to Pakistan should be taken in the country’s best interest.

The minister said the establishment of new administrative units or provinces appeared to be becoming increasingly necessary in view of the country’s evolving needs.

He stressed that decisions aimed at improving administrative arrangements and serving the broader national interest should be considered in line with the country’s requirements.
