LAHORE:A meeting regarding the Local Roads Programme was held under the chair of Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth.
The meeting reviewed the dashboard of roads constructed under the Local Roads Programme. Secretary CandW Raja Jahangir Anwar, Additional Secretary,
Special Secretary, Chief Engineers and officers of field formations attended the meeting online. During the meeting, the Provincial Minister was given a detailed briefing on the Local Roads Programme dashboard. It was informed during the briefing that 1,567 roads had been constructed under the Local Roads Programme, while funds amounting to more than Rs. 76 billion had been released for the programme.
Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth directed that complete data of the constructed roads be uploaded to the dashboard by tonight. He also directed that the data of 40 roads be updated on the dashboard immediately by 12: 00 midnight.
Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth appreciated the performance of the field formations for successfully completing the Local Roads Programme. He directed that strict compliance with the issued SOPs regarding roads must be ensured and that proper maintenance of newly constructed roads be given priority. He said that the roads of Punjab were providing the public with the best travelling facilities.
