ISLAMABAD: A four-day international workshop on teacher training was concluded at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Yesterday.
Addressing the concluding ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Prof. Dr. Tanzila Nabeel said that Islam is a religion of tolerance, peace and security, the education of Muslims begins with these things, we have forgotten these golden rules while the West is following these teachings.
Renowned experts from Canada and the Philippines participated online in this training workshop and emphasized that we collectively need to raise our voices in society for the betterment of education and global citizenship.
They urged a global consensus on education for peace and human rights.
They emphasized that there is a dire need to prepare citizens equipped with values, attitudes, knowledge, abilities, and skills to participate in all dimensions of social development actively and responsibly at the local, national, and global levels.
Other speakers including the Chairman, the Department of Early Childhood Education and Teacher Education, Dr. Fazal ur Rahman, Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Chaudhry and Dr. Mubashera shared their views that the workshop focused on real education that Pakistan needs and this workshop has been successful in achieving its objectives.
They also expressed their gratitude towards the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood for providing support and mentoring.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed among the teachers who completed the training.
