BAHAWALPUR:A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) and District Press Club Rahim Yar Khan for mutual cooperation and collaboration.
In this regard, a special ceremony was held at Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus, Bahawalpur on Monday. The MoU was signed by Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice-Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Chaudhry Javed Iqbal, President District Press Club Rahim Yar Khan.
Under the agreement, Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Corner will be set up in District Press Club Rahim Yar Khan in collaboration with the Islamia University of Bahawalpur with an aim of promoting dialogue between academia and experts from various walks of life.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Rahim Yar Khan Campus will conduct periodic professional training for the members of the Press Club.
Members of the Press Club will play a positive role in highlighting the activities taking place in Islamia University Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan Campus.
Scholarships will be arranged for District Press Club Rahim Yar Khan journalists and their children after approval from the syndicate.
On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is working hard on teaching and research and promotion of education as well as socio-economic development and community development of the region. Rahim Yar Khan Campus is also playing an active role in the development of the area where the number of teachers and faculty has more than tripled.
The District Press Club Rahim Yar Khan will work with the Rahim Yar Khan Campus for educational matters as well as for the welfare and development of journalists. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Registrar Prof. Dr. Moazzam Jameel, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Abu Bakar, Controller Examinations Prof. Dr. Sajjad Ahmed Paracha, Shahzad Ahmed Khalid, Director Press Media and Publications, President Press Club Bahawalpur Shahid Akhtar Baloch, Naseer Ahmed Nasir Former President Press Club Bahawalpur, Secretary Press Club Rahim Yar Khan, Bilal Habib, Razish Liaqat Puri and other senior journalists, faculty, and officers were present.
