Kamal discusses AI-based cancer care

Islamabad:Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal on Thursday met Munir Ahmed, representative of BIOS, an AI-native cancer surveillance and precision oncology company, to discuss the provision of advanced oncology equipment to Pakistan under Chinese Grant-in-Aid.



During the meeting, the two sides discussed the use of artificial intelligence-based technologies to strengthen cancer surveillance, enable timely and accurate diagnosis, improve treatment and enhance access to quality healthcare services for cancer patients.



A detailed briefing was also given on the provision of modern medical equipment for oncology services in Pakistan under the Chinese Grant-in-Aid.



The minister stressed the importance of promoting modern technology, artificial intelligence and advanced medical equipment in cancer diagnosis and treatment.



He welcomed potential cooperation in the field and emphasized the need to explore innovative approaches to improve cancer care and patient outcomes in Pakistan.
