LAHORE: The Punjab Police arrested a fugitive wanted for murder for four years, who had fled to Turkey.
The fugitive, Shafqat Abbas, was wanted by Gogera Okara Police in a murder case. After committing the crime in 2020, he went into hiding and fled to Turkey. Punjab Police included Shafqat Abbas’s details in the passport control list and continued efforts for his arrest. He was apprehended at the airport upon his return from Turkey. Okara Police took Shafqat Abbas into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway. The total number of fugitives arrested from abroad this year has reached 61.
