Peshawar:: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has formally launched a computer-based ability testing system for recruitment to government posts in the province, with the first computer-based tests being held on September 24.
The initiative has been launched in collaboration with the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) to make the testing process faster, more transparent and secure, said an official release issued here.
The tests for Senior Instructor (Criminology) and Law Officer are being held on September 24, while computer-based tests for Mobile Application Developer and Network Administrator will be conducted on September 25.
The shift from conventional paper-based examinations to digital testing is expected to accelerate the conduct of examinations, preparation of results and the overall recruitment process.
The new system will also reduce the need for printing question papers, answer sheets and other examination material, helping cut expenditure on paper, printing, stationery, transportation, preparation and storage of examination material.
The computer-based system is also expected to strengthen examination security by reducing human intervention and the movement of paper-based material, thereby helping prevent unfair means and examination irregularities.
The KPPSC said the initiative represented a broader reform in the government recruitment system aimed at providing candidates with a more transparent, secure and efficient testing environment and further strengthening merit-based recruitment. The scope of computer-based testing may be expanded to cover more competitive examinations in the future.
