Peshawar: Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) on Friday hosted a seminar titled “Peace and Business Development” with an objective to explore new avenues for sustainable community development, trade, investment, employment and lasting peace in the Kohat district.
The seminar was organized under the auspices of the World Peace Jirga Program (WPJP) in collaboration with Youth Development Center (YDC), Youth Development Center (YDC) Kohat University, Khan Baba World Services (Pvt) Ltd, and World Link Travels.
The event featured detailed discussions on crucial areas including education, technical and vocational training, women’s economic inclusion, youth skill enhancement, research, entrepreneurship and investment facilitation.
Delivering the keynote address, Kohat University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas emphasized that peace and economic development are deeply interconnected noting that sustainable progress cannot be achieved without peace. He remarked that universities are not merely educational institutions, but they are vibrant centers for societal transformation, research and innovation.
Participants were briefed on various upcoming initiatives centered around business partnerships, commerce, investment and job creation for locals.
