Lahore: On the directions of Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Tahir Farooq, the LDA Town Planning Wing has intensified action against illegal commercial buildings and defaulters of commercialisation fees, sealing 95 properties during operations conducted in various schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
According to an LDA spokesperson, enforcement teams carried out operations in Township, Gulberg, Johar Town, Westwood Colony and Allama Iqbal Town. As a result of illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercialisation fees, 19 properties were sealed in Township while 11 properties were sealed in Gulberg.
During recovery operations, the teams sealed 41 properties in Johar Town and Westwood Colony, and 24 properties in Allama Iqbal Town. The sealed properties include private schools, colleges, hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, electrical and marble stores, beauty salons, restaurants, food points, grocery stores, shops, offices and other establishments.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner-I Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali, with participation from the Enforcement Wing, LDA Security and police.
