LAHORE: The news on various news channels about overbilling preparations by the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) to its consumers is fake, as no such plan is being prepared by the Lesco.
The spokesperson for Lesco said on Friday that there is no such plan by the department to overbill 15 crore units to its consumers. There is no pressure from the chief executive officer (CEO) to overbill the consumers, said a spokesperson. By running such news, misinformation is being spread among the public, he added. The spokesperson said the department reserves the right to take action against the channels that broadcast such fake news.
