LHC dismisses petition against doctors strike declaring it non maintainable

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed the petition filed against doctors strike in government hospitals declaring it non maintainable.

Miscellaneous petition filed by citizen Mazhar Abbas came up for hearing before Justice Shahid Kareem of LHC Thursday.

The petition said doctors were kept under detention on incident of fire in Sahiwal Teachings hospital

Young Doctors Association (YDA) has gone on strike since June 15 in government hospitals after Sahiwal incident.

The petitioner said due to YDA strike the patients are facing difficulties and are continuing making rounds from one hospital to other hospital in connection with their treatment. The YDA be directed to end its strike forthwith.

Justice Shahid Kareem remarked this is government problem and not our problem.

The court dismissed the plea declaring it non maintainable.
