Line marking underway to improve traffic flow

Lahore

LAHORE: The Lahore district administration, adopting a comprehensive strategy to make the city encroachment-free, has carried out a line-marking process on major thoroughfares and markets to prevent business owners from conducting their business activities outside the designated boundaries.

Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider’s mission to free the city of encroachments is progressing rapidly under a comprehensive strategy. Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) Chief Officer (CO) Ali Abbas Bukhari is overseeing the finalization of line marking on major roads and markets.

The DC informed that the line marking process has been completed near Pir Makki, Data Darbar, LOS Road Samanabad, and other important roads. Business owners are being informed to conduct their activities within their designated boundaries to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Rafia Haider requested the business community to voluntarily remove encroachments and directed relevant zonal officers to monitor line marking daily. Implementation of line mark
ing boundaries will be ensured in all zones, she directed.

The DC warned that anti-encroachment operations are being conducted in two shifts across the city, and no leniency will be shown towards the encroachment mafia. She instructed all zonal officers to maintain public engagement in the campaign for an encroachment-free Lahore. Cooperation from the business community and the public is essential for a clean and green Lahore.
