LPG refilling equipment seized at nine sites

District

FAISALABAD:The Civil Defence enforcement teams have intensified a crackdown on illegal Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) refilling and petrol pumps operating without Form-K approval across Faisalabad district by seizing refilling equipment from nine locations and two petrol dispensers from a filling station in Jaranwala for violating the relevant laws.

A spokesman for Civil Defence said here on Sunday that the operation was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddiq under the supervision of Civil Defense Officer Javed Akhtar Khichi to ensure public safety and curb the hazardous sale and handling of petroleum products.

During operation, the enforcement team confiscated equipment used for illegal LPG refilling at nine locations across the district including Malikpur, Qabristan Mor on Jaranwala Road, Nishatabad Bridge, Sheikhupura Road, Jamilabad, Chak No.125-GB Jaranwala, 240 Mor Jaranwala and Chak No.283-GB Jaranwala. Such unauthorized activities pose serious risks to public safety because of the potential for gas leaks, fires and explosions.

In a separate joint operation, the Civil Defense enforcement team accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Jaranwala, PERA Force and Municipal Committee Jaranwala officials took action against Chaudhry Filling Station in Chak No.283 GB Jaranwala.

The team seized two petrol dispensers from the filling station for operating in violation of the prescribed requirements.

A case was also registered against the owner under relevant laws at Mandi Roadala Jaranwala police station.

The action against illegal LPG refilling outlets and petrol sellers operating without the required authorization would continue across the district to protect citizens and ensure compliance with safety regulations, the spokesman added.
