Hyderabad: Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro has formally launched a modern, paperless and computerized examination system to ensure transparency, merit, secure and timely preparation of results.
According to the university administration, the new examination system has been introduced in line with the policy of the Sindh government and directives of LUMHS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan. The initiative has been described as an important step towards bringing medical education in line with modern requirements.
Under the new system, examination centers in Jamshoro and various districts of Sindh have been connected with a centralized system, while modern technology is being used to monitor the examination process.
The university said secure networks and dedicated computer terminals were being used to protect examination material and students’ data.
Students’ theoretical and practical skills are being assessed through OSPE and computer-based examinations. Students and faculty members also welcomed the modern examination system, describing it as convenient, efficient and time-saving, and expressed hope that it would further promote transparency and impartiality in the examination process.
The university administration said the digital examination system would help make the conduct and monitoring of examinations, protection of data and preparation of results more organized and efficient.
