ISLAMABAD: On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, the magistrate Saddar Zone Mir Yamin on Sunday visited various areas including Changi no. 26 to Tarnol Phatak to check price notified lists of fruit, vegetable markets, dairy shops and grocery stores.
According to the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) spokesman, the magistrate strictly instructed to display and follow price lists at their shops. Otherwise, stern actions would be taken against the violators.
He said that the magistrate directed the shopkeepers and vendors to avoid overcharging on edible items and other commodities to provide relief to the people.
He said five shopkeepers who did not produce the official price list clearly and were involved in high selling were also arrested and transferred to Tarnol police station for further legal action during the magistrate’s visit.
The district administration is also taking the indiscriminate action against the wholesalers.
