Khanewal:Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hina Arshad has ordered a major upgrade of facilities at the General Bus Stand in Mian Channu to provide passengers with a clean, safe and comfortable travelling environment.
During her visit to the bus stand, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed passenger facilities and directed the authorities to further improve cleanliness, ensure effective lighting at night and keep all CCTV cameras fully operational.
She also ordered the installation of tuff tiles and directed officials to improve waiting areas, washrooms, drinking water facilities and other basic amenities for commuters.
Hina Arshad further directed the departments concerned to ensure beautification of the bus stand, proper drainage and permanent arrangements for cleanliness and maintenance.
She said provision of quality facilities at public transport terminals was essential for ensuring a safe and dignified travelling experience for citizens and directed timely implementation of all improvement measures.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Rana Muhammad Shoaib and Assistant Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmed accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
