FAISALABAD: Roshanwala police have solved a blind murder case and arrested a man on the charge of killing his younger brother.
Police spokesman said that 17-year-old Zeeshan Ashraf of Chak No. 233-RB Jhanda Singhwala went missing under mysterious circumstances about a week ago.
The police registered an abduction case on the complaint of Muhammad Arshad, uncle of the ill-fated teenager boy, and started investigation on scientific lines.
The police took Sufiyan Ashraf, elder brother of the missing youth, into custody over suspicion. During initial interrogation, the accused revealed that he, along with his two accomplices — Owais and Tanvir — killed his younger brother because he had been prohibiting him from ice addiction.
The accused revealed that Zeeshan had a cattle farm of 80 buffaloes and he was asleep at his farm where he had hit in his head with Phawara (an instrument used for removal of animal dung) and killed him on-the-spot.
Later, the accused threw the body in the canal which was later on fou
nd from the distributary near Chak No. 232-RB Bawaywala.
The police sent the accused behind bars while further investigation was under progress.
Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Kamran Adil and SSP Iqbal Division appreciated the performance of SHO Dijkot Malik Imran and announced commendation certificates and cash prizes for the SHO and his team, spokesman added.
