FAISALABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested a man for allegedly blackmailing and harassing a woman through Whatsapp by using her private, objectionable data.
According to NCCIA officials, the agency’s Faisalabad team arrested the accused Hussain Iqbal over his alleged involvement in threatening and harassing a woman through messaging platform by exploiting her personal data.
During operation, NCCIA officials recovered a mobile phone, the relevant WhatsApp number and data related to the victim, which would form part of the investigation into the alleged cybercrime.
The NCCIA registered a case against the accused under Sections 20, 21 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, as amended in 2025, and launched further investigation to establish the facts and determine extent of his alleged involvement, the officials added.
