Man held for allegedly threatening private university student

Lahore: Lahore police on Saturday arrested a man for allegedly threatening a private university student with serious consequences and damaging her apartment in the Sunder area.



According to a spokesperson for the DIG Operations,the student had appealed to senior authorities for justice through social media, following which DIG Operations Faisal Kamran directed the immediate registration of a case.



The spokesperson said that the suspect,identified as Abdul Rehman had an argument with the student and allegedly threatened her with serious consequences besides using abusive language.



He said the suspect also allegedly entered the student’s apartment and damaged the premises,including her room.



The arrested suspect was handed over to the Investigation Wing for further investigation, the spokesperson added.



DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said Lahore police had adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards incidents involving women and children and that no individual would be allowed to violate the law.
