LAHORE:The NCCIA (National Cyber-Crime Investigation Agency) has arrested an individual accused of harassing a woman by sharing her objectionable photos and videos.
The action was taken by the NCCIA following a complaint lodged during an open court session held by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Oct 23 in Central Zone Headquarters, here.
The NCCIA intervened due to allegations that the woman was being defamed via various media platforms. Objectionable digital content and relevant WhatsApp chats were recovered from the arrested suspect. Furthermore, significant evidence was also identified on the suspect’s TikTok account.
A case has been registered against the suspect following the collection of evidence. The charges have been filed under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016.
The NCCIA is continuing its further investigation into the incident.
