Lahore: Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister for Price Control Salma Butt said on Sunday that the Wheat Policy 2026 has been made for the convenience of farmer.
Under this policy, the private sector will purchase wheat from the farmer and the government will monitor it completely. The price has been fixed at Rs3,500 per maund of wheat. Farmers will be paid on time through private sector procurement.
A mapping system has also been implemented for monitoring wheat.
Meanwhile, it is worth to mention here that a wheat mapping system is a technological framework, typically using remote sensing (satellite imagery) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), to accurately identify, monitor, and estimate the spatial distribution, area, and yield of wheat crops over large regions.
