PESHAWAR:Director General Excise Mahmood Aslam Sunday aid that massive crackdown against drugs smuggling continue and the drug dealers would be dealt with iron hands.
Talking to media men, Director General Excise said that the excise police in Peshawar region has launched a major operation against narcotics, and attempt of smuggling large quantities of drugs have failed.
He said, 36 kg high quality cannabis recovered, drug smuggler arrested on the spot, He said the consignment were being made to smuggle drugs to Punjab.
He said SHO Muhammad Riaz on an undercover operation carried out an operation on a right road Chowk going towards Motorway Toll Plaza and intercepted a vehicle number BDF 126 and recovered 36 kg of high quality hashish. The smuggler belonged to Sargodha, he added.
A case has been registered in Excise Police Station Peshawar Region for further investigation
In the second operation, excise police station Abbottabad recovered 717 grams of ice and 1016 grams of heroin, arrested the accused and a case was registered, excise spokesman further informed.
