LAHORE: The administration of Mayo Hospital has suspended two storekeepers, Shahzad and Sarfraz, following allegations that they provided expired injections to cancer patients.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Hospital Chief Executive Officer Faisal Masood confirmed that an investigation was underway regarding the incident.
He assured the public that there have been no adverse reactions reported from the patients who received the expired injections. All affected patients have been admitted to the respective wards for monitoring and care.
An inquiry committee has been established to thoroughly investigate the matter and will submit its findings soon. Based on the committee’s recommendations, appropriate legal action will be taken against those found responsible for the incident. The hospital administration is committed to ensuring patient safety and maintaining high standards of medical care.
