Lahore: Medical experts stressed the need for continuous promotion of clinical research and trials to advance
medical science and achieve sustainable progress in the healthcare sector.
They were addressing a workshop organised under the auspices of PGMI/AMC/LGH here on
Thursday to enhance the research capabilities of faculty members and postgraduate trainees
in line with modern requirements.
Guest of Honour Prof Dr Muhammad Asif Naeem (PhD Molecular Biology), who has extensive
experience in genomics, gene therapy and medical research, shared his insights into the fundamental
principles of clinical research and trials, modern research methodologies and the importance of adhering to international standards.
Workshop organiser Prof Dr Tayyaba Gul Malik said the true success of an educational leader was
not confined to achievements during their tenure but also lay in ensuring that positive and sustainable
initiatives continued to progress in the future. She stressed the need to further advance the academic and research initiatives launched by former Principal Prof Dr Muhammad Farooq Afzal.
Vice Principal Prof Dr Nadrat Sohail thanked the guest of honour and participants, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to promoting evidence-based medical education and research activities and providing students and faculty with better opportunities for quality research.
MS LGH Prof Dr Faryad Hussain said the process of research, innovation and academic development would continue without interruption so that the ongoing efforts could serve as a strong and lasting academic foundation for future generations.
A large number of faculty members and doctors attended the workshop. At the conclusion, a commemorative shield was presented to the guest of honour.
