MULTAN: The Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) implemented a smart cleaning plan in markets and residential areas to improve cleanliness across the city.
In line with special directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Faisal Saleem the company has intensified the removal of garbage heaps and debris from different areas, deploying heavy machinery and additional manpower to ensure effective sanitation.
Anti-littering squads are also active in the field to raise public awareness about cleanliness and discourage traders from throwing waste in public places.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MWMC, Imran Munir said all available resources were being utilized to improve the sanitation system and provide relief to citizens. He said the company had canceled contracts of private firms and was now conducting cleaning operations itself.
He added that measures were being taken on a war footing to improve cleanliness and provide better sanitation facilities to citizens.
