LAHORE:A meeting regarding the construction of roads under the Local Road Programme, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, was held under the chair of Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth.
The meeting was attended by Secretary CandW Raja Jahangir Anwar, the Additional Secretary and Special Secretaries, while XENs and SEs participated online. The field formations briefed the meeting on the construction of roads under the Local Road Programme.
Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth directed that lane marking on newly constructed roads be completed and signboards installed by October 25.
He also directed that funds allocated for road schemes be utilised in a timely manner.
Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth said that the Local Road Programme was progressing rapidly towards completion and road projects across Punjab were being completed on time.
He said that the roads were providing travel facilities and other benefits to the people. Improved means of transportation contribute to better social and economic conditions.
