Islamabad: Minister of State for Finance, Revenue, and Power Ali Pervaiz Malik urged ‘national unity’ and slammed the opposition’s pursuit of self-interest, warning that their actions are hindering the country’s economic recovery.
Talking to a private news channel, he has made a passionate appeal for national unity, urging all stakeholders to put aside their differences and work together for the country’s prosperity.
Malik warned that the opposition’s self-serving agenda is not only hindering the government’s efforts to address economic issues but also threatening the country’s stability and progress.
Responding a query related to opposition call for protest, he made it clear that the government is not afraid of opposition’s protests, but emphasized that any demonstrations or gatherings must be conducted in accordance with the law and through proper legal channels, including obtaining necessary permissions.
In a bid to maintain public order and ensure the smooth functioning of democratic processes, the go
vernment urges protesters to adhere to established protocols and procedures, he mentioned.
The government has made it clear that protecting state interests is our top priority, he mentioned.
He stressed that the government’s primary responsibility is to serve the people and ensure the country’s progress and stability, and it will not be swayed by political pressure or vested interests.
By prioritizing state interests, the government aims to create a conducive environment for economic growth, attract investment, and improve the lives of citizens, he added.
To another query, he said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’ leadership is only focused to make the country an ‘Asian Tiger’ where we need a collective and sensible role of all.
Minister of State has also reiterated that the law is supreme and equal for all citizens, emphasizing that no individual or institution is above the law.
He stressed that the government is committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is served without fea
r or favor.
Malik warned that anyone found guilty of wrongdoing will be held accountable, regardless of their social status, political affiliation, or influence.
