LAHORE: Punjab Livestock Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani on Saturday visited Buffalo Research Institute Pattoki and inspected various sections of the institute.
According to official sources here, the minister said that the government was taking practical measures for the betterment of the sector. He said that the department was paying special attention on fitness of animals and to increase milk and meat production as per the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani said that a number of schemes had been started in agriculture and livestock sectors to facilitate farmers possessing 1 to 12 acres of land.
He further said that 400,000 animals would be exported, adding that ‘Neeli Ravi’ cow was the identity of Punjab.
The minister said, “We are introducing milk and meat breeds in Punjab.”
