FAISALABAD:In line with the directions of CM Punjab, a high-level delegation comprising ministers, members parliamentarian and senior officers of law enforcement agencies reviewed Muharram-ul-Haram arrangements here on Friday.
The delegation was comprises on Provincial Health Minister / Chairman Cabinet Committee for Peace Khawaja Salman Rafique, Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, Secretary Home Department Noor ul Amin Mengal, Inspector General Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, Additional IG CTD Wasim Sial, Commissioner Faisalabad Silwat Saeed, RPO Dr Abid Khan, Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh and CPO Kamran Adil.
They visited the central Muharram procession routes, Imam bargahs including Azakhana Shabir, Imambargah Haydria, Imambargah Jafria in Hasanpura.
They also held meetings with license holders, member peace committee, Ahl-e-Tashih community, management and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that all Muharram majalis and
processions were being monitored properly.
He said that the government had also arranged ‘Langar Khana’ and ‘Water Sabeels’ for mourners.
He further said that all district administrations had mobilized resources by taking peace committees on board for better law and order and Muharram arrangements in an effective manner.
Earlier, Provincial Health Minister /Chairman Cabinet Committee for Peace Khawaja Salman Rafique with other members of the delegation held a meeting at the commissioner office. Member parliamentarians Chaudhry Shahbaz Babar, Jafar Ali Hocha, Khan Bahadur Dogar, Qudsia Batool, Uzma Jabin Raja, Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh, and other officers were also present on the occasion.
The Commissioner Silwat Saeed and RPO Dr Abid Khan briefed about the Muharram-ul-Haram arrangements.
They said that 4,402 Majalis would be held while 1,528 processions would be taken out across the division. Entry of 163 Zakireen and speakers have been banned in the districts while speeches of 122 oth
ers have been banned. At least 205 persons have been included in the fourth schedule in district Faisalabad.
They said that 10 companies each from Pak army and rangers would also provide security cover to Majalis and process from 7th of Muharram-ul-Haram.
Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that Muharram arrangements were being reviewed across the province on the orders of CM Punjab. The delegation has visited 7 divisions in Punjab province and it has found satisfactory arrangements at all divisions.
He said that district intelligence committees were holding meetings on a daily basis, while enforcement of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) issued by the home department were being ensured across the province in letter and spirit.
