SIALKOT:Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) Muhammad Manshaullah Butt and Chaudhary Faisal Ikram, along with the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Programme (PICIIP) team, made a detailed review of laying sewerage lines, construction of disposal stations, road maintenance and traffic management at Sublime Chowk, Gohdpur, Korpur, Muradpur and Kotli Behram.
Administrator Municipal Corporation Sialkot Muhammad Iqbal also accompanied him on this occasion.
Members Provincial Assembly (MPAs) Muhammad Manshaullah Butt and Chaudhry Faisal Ikram said that after laying the sewerage line from Sublime Chowk to Gohadpur Chowk, the road has been made motorable by laying base and sub-base.
However, after the commencement of the project to lay conduit/sewerage lines on the Gohadpur Road up to Kotli Behram, the pressure will increase due to the shift of traffic from Sublime Chowk to Gohadpur Chowk. For which the PICIIP authorities should take immediate steps to make Sublime Chowk to Gohadpur Chowk Road mo
torable according to the flow of heavy traffic.
They said that laying of sewerage lines/conduit from Kotli Bahram to Gohad Chowk should be started from the middle of the road in order to halve the completion time, which will work day and night on both sides of the project.
With this strategy, the residents of the area will have to face minimal inconvenience, they added.
Administrator Municipal Corporation Sialkot Muhammad Iqbal said that to improve the working relationship with the PICIIP team, focal persons of the District Council and Municipal Corporation will be appointed for supervision in this project. Through which the day-to-day progress of the project can be reviewed and departmental coordination will help in resolving problems on the spot.
PICIIP, NSPAK and contractors were also present on this occasion.
