BUREWALA: In a twist of events, Gaggo Mandi police registered a murder case against complainants of a theft case on charge of killing a theft suspect on Tuesday, hours after initial reports suggested the theft case suspect had died in police custody.
According to police, a case was registered against an accused Maratib Ali on charges of theft.
Police sources told media persons that the suspect had died of cardiac arrest amid extreme hot weather conditions.
However, police later registered FIR against the complainants of the theft case on the report of deceased Maratib Ali’s father Muhammad Jameel r/o Chak 255/eb.
He named Mushtaq alias Makha and Nisar Ahmad, both sons of Mukhtar Ahmad as the accused. He alleged that his son Maratib had gone out early morning for labour to earn livelihood when the accused started beating him severely and took him away by motorcycle.
Complainant said that they also started chasing them and found that they took him to Gaggo police station and left him in the courtyard.
He
said, police then took the injured to rural health center where his son died. Police have registered case against the two accused under sections 302/34 PPC and started investigations.
