Rawalpindi: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree Imran Razzaq on Thursday chaired an important meeting here at the Traffic Headquarters to review traffic arrangements for the snowfall spell from January 17 to 21.
The meeting was attended by traffic volunteers serving under the ‘Friends of Traffic Police Murree’ initiative. During the session, the CTO briefed the volunteers in detail on traffic management during snowfall, guidance for tourists and the provision of public facilitation.
He said maintaining smooth traffic flow in Murree during snowfall was a major challenge, which required timely coordination, discipline and strong teamwork.
He directed the volunteers to work closely with traffic officers to extend maximum assistance to road users and tourists.
The CTO instructed that in case of any traffic-related issue, immediate contact should be made with the traffic control room, while volunteers were also directed to remain in constant coordination with their respective area in-charge officers.
On the occasion, CTO Imran Razzaq distributed reflective jackets among the traffic volunteers to ensure safety and clear identification during duty hours. He said the jackets would not only enhance the volunteers’ safety but also help improve their on-duty performance.
Addressing the meeting, he further said that through effective coordination and teamwork, traffic would be kept flowing smoothly in Murree during snowfall, adding that City Traffic Police Murree remained fully alert in this regard.
Meanwhile, City Traffic Police Murree appealed to the public and tourists to strictly follow traffic rules during snowfall, avoid unnecessary travel and cooperate fully with traffic police and volunteers to prevent any untoward situation.
