ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Special Committee on Balochistan’s meeting was held on Thursday and identified the various important issues in Balochistan and their resolution accordingly.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi in the Parliament House, said a press release.
The Committee approved the Terms of Reference for the committee including ensuring a six per cent provincial quota for jobs, resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons, provision of data of displaced persons since 2005, registration and repatriation of Afghan refugees, rehabilitation of persons displaced due to recent floods, resolution of the issues of third-party employees working with PPL, OGDCL, SNGPL, SSGCL), release of outstanding lease payments by OGDCL), ensure supply of gas within five kilometres radius of the Sui Gas Field by PPL and SNGCL), implementation of Oil and Gas Companies policies regarding the facilitation of locals of Jhal Magsi and demarcation of the area of Kacchi canal.
The issue of higher education in Balochistan was also discussed, in this connection, the Committee decided to invite the representatives from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to the next meeting to brief upon the data of students from Balochistan who have availed national and international scholarships.
The members Nawabzada Shazain Bugti, Sajid Hussain Turi, Usama Qadri, Sardar Riaz Mehmood Khan Mazari, Aliya Kamran, Ramesh Lal, and Prof. Dr Shahnaz Baloch, MNA attended the meeting.
