ISLAMABAD:National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) organized a webinar on “Environment Management System” in collaboration with Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power (Private) Limited.
The webinar was attended by large number of professionals from the power sector of Pakistan and NEPRA, said a press release issued here Saturday.
The main purpose of the webinar was to discuss Environmental Management System in the Power Sector in order to minimize any adverse impacts and/or damage to the surroundings/environment in which Licensees operate, including air, water, land, natural resources, flora, fauna, humans, and the interrelation between them.
Chairman NEPRA, Tauseef H. Farooqi in his keynote address told the participants that the Authority is actively pursuing NEPRA vision of “Power with Safety” to minimize adverse impacts on environment resulting from Licensees’ workplace, equipment, machines, material, activities, processes, products and services.
