LAHORE:The Punjab Police Special Operations Cell and Interpol Islamabad conducted a joint international operation and arrested nine fugitives involved in murder and other serious crimes. A team of Special Operations Cell under the leadership of Inspector Khalid Waryah arrived at the Lahore Airport from United Arab Emirates with nine fugitives. The criminals were identified as Irfan Asghar, Farhan Nazakat, Samar Abbas, Najib ullah, Saddam Hussain, Muhammad Rafiq, Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Usman and Tariq Mehmood. According to details, Muhammad Rafiq was wanted by Dera Ghazi Khan police since 2011 in cases of killing citizens and terrorism, fugitive Tariq Mehmood was wanted by the Faisalabad police for 14 years in a case of the murder of a man.
Fugitive Irfan Asghar was wanted by Badiana police station Sialkot for murdering his wife and disappearing her body. Fugitive Farhan Nazakat was wanted by Qila Deedar Singh Gujranwala Police in the murder of a 16-year-old boy. Fugitive Samar Abbas was want
ed by Pakpattan police in the murder of a man in Arifwala. Fugitive Najibullah was wanted by Dera Ghazi Khan police for 10 years in the murder of a citizen. Fugitive Saddam Hussain was wanted by Bhakar police in a dacoity case since 2018. Fugitive Muhammad Saqib was wanted by the Sialkot police in a murder case, similarly, fugitive Muhammad Usman was wanted by the Sialkot police in a murder case of a citizen.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar appreciated the team of RPO Gujranwala Tayyab Hafeez Cheema, CPO Gujranwala Rana Ayaz Saleem for their success in arresting A category dangerous fugitives. The IG Punjab said a total number of proclaimed offenders and fugitives arrested from foreign countries this year had reached 59.
