Islamabad: One person was killed after a fire broke out in cables near Old Sabzi Mandi on University Road, Karachi, early Friday morning.
According to rescue sources, the charred body of an unidentified individual was recovered from near the affected cables, a local news channel reported.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a fire brigade team rushed to the spot and immediately launched an operation to extinguish the flames.
Firefighters managed to put out the blaze completely.
Police and rescue teams have shifted the body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities, while further investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
