Lahore: A seven-day anti-polio campaign in the city has successfully concluded with the vaccination of 2,288,978 children, surpassing the set target of 2,285,477 children. The achievement was shared during a polio review meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ejaz here on Monday, which was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Abdullah Khan, CEO Health Dr Asif Arbab Khan, Assistant Commissioners, Additional Assistant Commissioners, Deputy District Health Officers and international observers.
During the meeting, CEO Health Dr Asif Arbab Khan briefed the deputy commissioner that the campaign had achieved its vaccination target, with 3,501 additional children administered polio drops during the
seven-day drive. He further informed that polio teams had achieved overall coverage of 1,627,316, while all 711 reported refusal cases were successfully covered during the campaign.
The DC appreciated the efforts of polio teams, health workers and the district administration for suc
cessfully completing the campaign and exceeding the vaccination target. He stressed the importance of continued coordinated efforts to protect children from the crippling disease and ensure complete coverage in future campaigns.
