BAHAWALPUR:Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar chaired a review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Bahawalpur to assess the performance of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Bahawalpur and the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) Force.
Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza was also present. The meeting reviewed various public issues in the city, problems faced by residents, the sewerage and drainage systems, cleanliness arrangements and measures to improve basic municipal services.
The concerned officials briefed the meeting on public grievances and the facilities being provided to citizens. Various proposals were discussed to improve the sewerage system, resolve drainage problems, strengthen sanitation arrangements and address the everyday difficulties faced by residents. Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar directed WASA Bahawalpur, the PERA Force and other relevant departments to perform their duties efficiently to resolve public issues. He stressed the need to strengthen coordination among the concerned institutions to ensure the timely redressal of citizens’ complaints.
He said coordinated measures should be adopted to improve municipal services, maintain a clean environment and address administrative and civic issues in the city. The meeting emphasized that matters concerning public welfare should be resolved on a priority basis and that all relevant departments must further improve their performance to address citizens’ problems and ensure the provision of essential municipal services.
