Nasir Shah for completing solar panels provision project in time

Karachi: Sindh Minister for Energy Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Monday, stressed on completion of the alternate energy project aimed at provision of solar panels to 0.2 million households across the province at the earliest.

The minister, while chairing a meeting at Energy Department regarding provision of solar panels to 200,000 homes with the support of the World Bank, instructed to ensure transparency, merit as well as simple and convenient-for -people distribution process.

The meeting in which detailed consideration was given to the method of distribution of solar panels, according to a statement issued here, was attended by Senior Energy Specialist Dmytro Glazkov, Energy Specialist Manahil Raza and Consultant Abrar Khattak from the World Bank, Secretary Energy Mosaddiq Ahmed Khan, PD Sindh Solar Energy Mahfouz Ahmed Qazi, and heads of various solar distribution companies.

Syed Nasir Shah directed the World Bank delegation and distribution companies to keep the process of distribution of solar panels very simple and convenient for the people. He also directed the meeting to speed up the steps regarding distribution of solar panels and maintain merit and transparency in all work.

The minister asked the heads of solar panel distribution companies to complete all the steps on time and to contact him directly in case of any difficulties.

He said that the project should be completed at the earliest as per the vision and instructions of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and efforts should be made to make its fruits available to the public within three months.

Timely precautions for citizens urged to prevent viral infections with covid-like symptoms: Expert

Islamabad: As the dry winter season reaches its peak, health expert on Monday urged citizens to take timely precautions against viral infections with symptoms similar to COVID-19, emphasizing the need for awareness and responsible healthcare practices.

Prof. Dr. Saeed Khan, a renowned Public Health expert emphasized the importance of responsible antibiotic use during an interview with a private news channel.

"Antibiotics should only be used under the guidance of a healthcare professional and with a proper

prescription," Dr. Khan stressed.

"Self-medication can lead to antibiotic resistance, making infections harder to treat," he added.

He also highlighted the need for complete testing to determine the cause of infections, rather than relying on assumptions.

Dr. Khan further advised citizens to take advantage of available vaccinations to protect themselves against viral infections.

"Vaccination is a proven and effective way to prevent the spread of infectious diseases," he said.

Responding a query, he said in Karachi, many cases of COVID-19 have been reported, prompting health experts to urge extra caution for elderly individuals and those with respiratory diseases.

According to Prof. Dr. Saeed Khan, "the elderly and people with respiratory diseases are more susceptible to complications from COVID-19 and therefore, need to take extra precautions to protect themselves".

Additionally, citizens are urged to seek medical attention immediately if they experience any symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.

Furthermore, Dr. Khan stressed. "Self-medication can lead to antibiotic resistance, making infections harder to treat".

Overall, the key to preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other viral infections is awareness and responsible healthcare practices.

By taking the necessary precautions and seeking medical attention when needed, citizens can protect themselves and their loved ones from the risks associated with these infections, he concluded.

PJA launches training course on analysis of revenue documents, inheritance issues in civil cases

Lahore: Punjab Judicial Academy (PJA) on Monday launched a comprehensive training course on the analysis of revenue documents and inheritance issues in civil cases. Thirty-two civil judges, senior civil judges, and additional district and sessions judges from across the province were participating in the current batch. During his address, PJA Director General Justice (Retd) Sardar Ahmad Naeem emphasized that judges in the district judiciary require professional expertise to analyze revenue documents before deciding complex issues such as inheritance. He underscored the importance of equipping judges with the necessary knowledge and skills to handle matters related to revenue documents effectively. He affirmed that, in line with the vision of Lahore High Court Chief Justice, the academy is committed to providing top-notch training to all judicial officers in Punjab, enabling them to deliver prompt and sustainable decisions. While discussing the objectives of training, he highlighted that enhancing both the knowledge and working skills of judges was a key priority of the academy. Justice (Retd) Sardar Ahmad Naeem urged the participants to gain as much knowledge and skill as possible from the course material and to benefit from the expertise of the renowned instructors arranged by the academy. He expressed the hope that, after completing the training, participants would be better equipped to effectively analyze revenue evidence and deliver justice in civil cases.

TDCP introduces double decker bus service in Faisalabad

Faisalabad: The Tourism Development Corporation Punjab introduced double decker bus service

to explore Faisalabad for the general public and students of schools, colleges and universities.

According to official sources on Monday, the main terminal of the bus is Bagh-e-Jinnah and it will cover a 28-km distance on various city roads. The estimated travel time will be 3-hours with one-and-a-half hours stay.

The ticket price general is Rs 500 and students /children under 19 is Rs 400. Friday and Sunday will be for the general public, however, the bus can move on other days also if its seats are filled.

The special booking for 60 seats in a bus for a student's group will be in Rs 20,000 and for general

public with family Rs 25,000 per tour.

The TDCP also offered free travelling to Senior Citizens (65 plus) CNIC required, kids under-5 (FRC required) and disabled persons (card required).

The route of the explore Faisalabad bus is main terminal (Bagh-e-Jinnah) to Serena hotel, Iqbal stadium, arts council, agriculture university, district council, Lyallpur museum, Allama Iqbal library, Clock Tower, Gumti, Chenab Club, railway station, Abdullahpur, canal road view, Fantasia Theme Park, Kashmir under-pass, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, Lyallpur Galleria, Government Municipal Degree College, Koh-e-Noor shopping mall, NFC Institute, D-ground, Chen One road, Jhal flyover, GTS chowk and Bagh-e-Jinnah.
