LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Friday said that Pakistan has a deep-rooted relationship with Kashmiri people and would continue supporting their just struggle for the liberation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
He regretted that India had been hatching a spate of conspiracies against Pakistan as it sabotaged regional peace by intruding into the state of Kashmir. Kashmir is a jugular and Pakistan is incomplete without it, he added.
Addressing the Kashmir Exploitation Day ceremony at 90-SQA, he lamented that India had gone to every limit in its continued state-sponsored oppression in occupied valley, however now even Indian human rights organizations have stood up against the oppression.
The CM stressed that member countries of the OIC should play their full role in the resolution of the Kashmir issue adding that voices are being raised all over the world about the worst lockdown in (IIOJ&K), he noted.
The Kashmir issue had also been raised in the British parliament, he added and expressed the hope that the time is not far when occupied Kashmir will be liberated.
Parvez Elahi said that Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik has made immense sacrifices in the freedom struggle and is being treated inhumanely in jail and even he is not given the right to a fair trial.
Yasin Malik is on hunger strike in jail and his health condition is not satisfactory.
He termed it a extreme cruelty that people are shot by forcing them out of their homes in IIOJ&K.
The international organizations were also concerned about the situation in the valley as Turkey and Pakistan had raised their strong voices on the Kashmir issue.
The CM stated that the Pakistanis were with Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom and they will not back down in the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiris.
Hurriyat leader Engineer Mushtaq Ahmad Shah also addressed the event.
MPA Dr Yasmin Rashid, Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Imtiaz Iqbal Wani, President of Overseas Pakistanis Scotland Shabbir Shah, additional chief secretary, additional chief secretary (home), information secretary, deputy commissioner and others attended the ceremony.
