LAHORE:Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said on Tuesday that providing a peaceful, secure and business-friendly environment and resolving the genuine problems of the business community on a priority basis were among the top priorities of Lahore Police. He said that effective policing and close coordination with the business community were essential for protecting economic activities, strengthening public confidence and supporting economic growth. Talking to the LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar here, the CCPO said that all possible measures were being taken in consultation with the business community and other relevant stakeholders to improve the security and safety of business community.
He said that regular engagement with business organizations could help identify security-related challenges, improve coordination and ensure timely attention to the genuine concerns of the business sector. The LCCI President appreciated the services being provided through the Police Khidmat Markaz operating at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He highlighted the importance of accessible police services for the business community, saying that convenient service delivery and responsive law enforcement could save businesspeople time, strengthen institutional trust and facilitate their economic activities. Ali Hussam Asghar said that peace, security and the rule of law were fundamental to economic stability.
He said that businesses were better positioned to invest, expand operations, create employment and contribute to national development when they could operate without persistent concerns about crime and insecurity. A safe business environment, he added, was particularly important for markets, commercial centers, small businesses and industrial enterprises that supported livelihoods and economic activity across the city.
He said that cooperation between the police and the private sector could play an important role in preventing crime, protecting commercial assets and addressing traders’ concerns through effective communication.
He stressed the need for continued coordination between LCCI and Lahore Police so that issues affecting the business community could be highlighted promptly and taken up through appropriate channels. He further added that business-friendly policing, fair implementation of the law and timely handling of complaints could help build confidence among local and prospective investors.
A predictable and secure business environment encourages entrepreneurship and commercial expansion, while stronger institutional cooperation could help reduce disruptions to business operations and support sustainable economic development.
