MULTAN:Punjab Food Authority (PFA) imposed fine of Rs 8.8 million on 555 shopkeepers and issued warning to 3800 others for selling substandard food items.
According to official sources, PFA teams visited 4900 shops during month of March. PFA Director General Shoaib Khan Jadoon in a statement also remarked that 28 food points were sealed.
Apart from this, FIRs were registered against six shopkeepers. The Licensing Branch issued licenses to 764 different shops.
Shoaib Khan Jadoon observed that Food Safety Teams would continue raids to ensure sale of hygienic quality goods. The citizens could submit complaint at toll free number 080080500.
Similarly, complaints against the mafia could also be lodged on the Facebook application. It is imperative to follow the Food Authority rules for the delivery of quality food to the people.
