Lahore:Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore on Thursday decided to distribute plants among the people and conduct painting competition to celebrated Independence Day with grandeur.
A meeting chaired by Director General Muhammad Tahir Wattoo was held regarding preparations for Independence Day celebrations held here at PHA headquarters.
Recommendations for the Independence Day events were presented in the meeting and it was decided to organize fireworks, illumination, and a painting competition while a flag hoisting ceremony will be held at Racecourse Park.
On the night between August 13 and 14, Minar-e-Pakistan will be illuminated with green and white lights, and free plants will be distributed among the residents of Lahore.
All wing officers will perform their respective duties in the preparations for Independence Day, said DG Muhammad Tahir Wattoo.
“We will express gratitude for the great blessing of freedom in a grand manner,” said Muhammad Tahir Wattoo and added that the residents of Lahore will
pay tribute to national heroes by hoisting the national flag.
